The Space

You can sleep up to 6 people in this deluxe, 2-bedroom, 1.5 Bath, Luxury Condo. It is a super easy 2 block, 8 min walk, to the very BEST part of Waikiki beach (the King Kamehameha statue). Many bars, restaurants, and the biggest grocery store in Waikiki are next door and walkable.

Save big compared to staying at a hotel. Why spend $500+ or more a night for two hotel rooms when you could stay in my 2 bedroom condo! Hotels also charge an arm and leg for parking at $40 a night, Wifi for $20 a night, plus eating out every meal, and you quickly see how my place is a huge bargain. Since we include free parking, fast wifi, and 2 private bedrooms, our place can be a great home base for your family, 2 couples, or small group! Also, you can cook your own meals and really save a lot with all the comforts of home!

There is a Master Suite with King-size pillow-top bed, TV, and private bath and shower, a guest bedroom with queen size bed and chair, and a pull out couch in the living room that share access to a separate half bathroom. Please note, if you are using it for 6 people, 3rd bed is a pull out couch, so expectations should be set appropriately.

Walk to everything! With an overall walk score of “ 87 – Very High” with a 100 out of 100 in the sub categories of Dining and Drinking, Shopping, Groceries, and Cultural / Entertainment you can easily walk to everything you will need from the front door of my apartment!

Also includes, at no additional cost, 1 covered parking space, very near the elevator. The building amenities are great and include a pool deck with large hot tub, a small gym, and mens / womens hot sauna, plus a roof deck BBQ area for grilling and entertaining with an amazing ocean view.

The roofdeck is really a gem, you can also go up there on Friday night for a great view of the fireworks, which usually start around 7:30 or so. From the roof, you can also get a nearly unobstructed view of the ocean, diamond head, and the mountains right behind waikiki. Its a stunning view, and great place not just to BBQ but to hang out and relax.

My unit has been carefully and painstakingly upgraded and totally renovated, down to the studs. As you may know, Waikiki was primarily built in the 60’s and 70’s, and you can tell MOST places have not been renovated or been poorly renovated. I’m talking things like popcorn ceilings (mine, professional removed), ceramic tile counter tops, and ugly furniture galore.

Sure, you are going to spend a lot of time outdoors, but do you want to come home to a little slice of the 70s? Probably not. So don’t spend the same amount of money to stay in an old outdated apartment. Mine has been professionally upgraded with a beautiful interior and top of the line everything!

I challenge you to find a nicer apartment for the price in all of Waikiki. You will enjoy the little touches (USB chargers, new TVs and appliances) to the big things like the incredible Ala Wai and mountain view from the spacious lanai and quick walk to one of the best beaches in the world, plus all kinds of restaurants, bars, and activities right out your doorstep. Its a killer location and will meet the needs of tourists, couples, families, and businessmen alike.

Its an awesome unit you won’t find a better deal. Price includes all taxes and fees etc. We pay our Vacation Rental and Transient Taxes!

NOTE: POOL / GYM / BBQ CLOSURE and exterior building painting work is ongoing and may affect part of your stay.

Please note that the pool / hot tub / sauna / gym will be closed starting Oct 28 until further notice for Approximately 1-3 months. This affects all units at Waikiki Lanais.

Air Conditioning: There are two A/C units in the unit, one in the Master Bedroom, and one in the Living room. A/C issues have been resolved.

Extra stuff: There is a hairdryer in the unit, as well as iron and ironing board. Some people forget about that until its too late, but we have it! I tried to think of all the little things that make a stay more comfortable. There are empty hangers in the closet, a luggage rack in the guest room, and plenty of (12) towels. One bath towel and one beach towel for each potential guest.

My girlfriend was a professional cook, so you will find the kitchen WELL stocked compared to most vacation rentals. Things that many other places forget, like a wine opener, can opener, potato peeler, chopsticks, steak knives, assorted baking gear, decent chef knives, multiple cutting boards, strainers, and various other kitchen paraphernalia are included for those that want to use the kitchen. Plus a toaster, tea kettle, coffee maker, rice cooker, and blender!

Filtered, cold, clean water available all the time: Since we got top of the line stuff, like my $3,000 GE Profile Fridge, you can enjoy clean water without buying bottles. It has a built in high quality water filter. The water out of the fridge tastes great. No need to buy bottled water (Again, saving you money compared to hotel living)! Plus, it also makes ice cubes with that filtered water, very convenient, just open the freezer and they are right there.

Beach Gear: It is no accident that my place has all the beach gear that you probably need, since when I lived there I went to the beach every day! I have left a variety of things there for your use, such as 4 beach chairs, a big umbrella, a big cooler with rolling wheels to take to the beach, snorkels, masks, and fins, a beach blanket, and as I mentioned earlier beach towels for everyone! All you need to bring is your swimsuit, slippers (flip flops for you mainland folks), and sunscreen to be all set.

My place is really right near a major bus stop and multiple bus line as well. Public transportation, should you decide to go that way, is a snap! The main bus stop is right on Kuhio ave, 3 minutes walk from my place. The shuttles to Ala Moana and the convention center also stop there too, if thats where you need to head. Shuttles are a fixed $2, bus is $2.50. Bring change.

We are a fully licensed and 100% legal Honolulu Transient Accommodation, see our tax id. Many others are not.

Please read all the amenities carefully.

Sorry, we cannot accommodate early check-ins. There is no place to leave your bags until you check in, so you must prepare for that if you arrive before 4pm.

FAQs:

Q: Does your unit include parking?
A: Yes! 1 spot included with the price

Q: What kind of beach gear is included?
A: All kinds! Chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear, a cooler with wheels, an umbrella, etc are all included.

Q: How many towels are included?
A: 12 in total. 6 for showering, 6 for the beach. Or however you decide to use them 🙂

Q: Is there a washing machine? Or laundry room?
A: Yes! There is a laundry room on the 5th floor for guest use. They sell soap there as well in single serve sizes.

Q: Do you include bedding / sheets / pillows for the pull out couch?
A: Yes, a full set of bedding is included if you want to use the pull out couch.

Q: Does this price include taxes, fees, etc?
A: Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! (I know, its a good deal)

Q: Any hidden fees?
A: No! None!

Q: Can I check in early, before 4pm?
A: No, sorry. If you arrive early and want to go immediately to the apartment, please book one day early so you can go right there. I have many guests who do this and love the convenience, and its still way cheaper than a hotel.

Q: OK I can’t check in early, but can I leave my bags somewhere?
A: If you have a rental car, you can usually leave the car in the assigned parking spot until check in time with your bags in it. If you have no car, sorry there is nobody to take your bags. This is not a hotel. However, many people leave their bags at a nearby hotel, or there is a bag check at the Ala Moana Mall Customer Service desk if you want to hang out there a bit.

Q: Can I leave my bags in the apartment during cleaning if I have a later flight?
A: Sorry, again, that is not possible. But many people report success by leaving bags at a nearby hotel (there are many very close)

Q: Can we check out late?
A: Sorry, probably not. We usually have a very tight schedule and the cleaners are scheduled to come right around check out time (noon).

Q: Any discounts for a week (or more) stay?
A: If you are going to stay 10 days or longer, email me directly first and I will hook you up with a discount.

The Neighborhood

My place is perfect for walking anywhere you would like to go – with a walk score of 87 out of 100, it can’t be beat! Here are just a few of the great things within EASY walking distance (walking time according to google maps) from my front door:

8 Minute walk to the BEACH, only 2 blocks away 🙂

3 Minute walk to the nearest ABC store (convenience store), of which there seems to be an infinite number in Waikiki

4 Minute walk to the Hilton Waikiki Beach, one of their premiere properties, so you know our location is good! Check out the famous Mac 24/7 inside the hilton, they have this crazy pancake meal that is so big, they put your picture on the wall if you eat it all! Other food is really good too there, and they are open..24/7!

5 Minute walk to Food Pantry – The largest and only real grocery store in Waikiki. Stock up on all your essentials here. And since you have a kitchen at my place, you can save a lot of money instead of eating out every meal.

5 Minute walk to the closest Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Gotta get that morning fix, and their blended coffee drinks are pretty good.

5 Minute Walk to HiSteaks, my favorite fast food place in Waikiki with tasty steak plate meals less than $10. Their garlic butter french fries are also mind blowing, give it a shot. I recommend the chimichurri steak sauce by the way, its a little taste of Argentina right in Oahu.

6 Minute walk to the closest Starbucks. Essential for some you know who you are 🙂

7 Minute walk to Marukame Udon, the best handmade noodle soup joint straight from Japan (go there early, LONG lines, worth it). The locals, we go here for breakfast because its the only time with NO lines, and why not, noodles for breakfast! Otherwise, expect to wait 30-45 minutes if the line is wrapped around twice.

7 Minute walk to the Cheeseburger in Paradise

8 Minute walk to Duke’s Waikiki, a great beach bar and named after the famous surfer!

8 Minute walk to the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, a great hotel with excellent pool and beach bar overlooking the ocean. Great place to stop in for a bite to each (nachos are famous), or hop in their pool and hottub if you get tired of the ocean (umm, guests only? haha I think its fine especially if you buy a drink or lunch there, now you are a customer!)

8 Minute walk to Moana Surfrider and Banyan Tree Lounge, the very first hotel in all of Waikiki and an amazing spot for sunset drinks, live music and soaking up the history of Waikiki

9 Minute walk to Tiki’s Grill & Bar, great place for dinner, taco tuesday, awesome happy hour and watching the sunset, they have one of the best views of the ocean for a bar

10 Minute walk to the Honolulu Zoo, take the kids!

10 Minute walk to Royal Hawaiian Center, the Waikiki Shopping mall with all kinds of stores from Apple Store, Ferrari, Uggs, Rolex, etc! They have everything there, along with a decent food court if you want to eat on the (relative) cheap!

12 Minute walk to Genius Lounge Sake Bar & Grill, a hidden gem on Lewers street that has some really authentic Japanese food

15 Minute walk to the “Beach Walk”, a pedestrian strip of bars and restaurants great for a stroll at night

15 Minute walk to the Sheraton Waikiki Beach and their famous nightclub, Rum Fire! This place gets hopping right at sunset, and goes all night until Midnight. Easly walk home from the best bar on Waikiki Beach after a night out. Locals and tourists alike mingle at this hotspot. Afterwards, probably time to go to M nightclub if you really want to to burn the midnight oil, but you will need a cab for that its not in Waikiki.

16 Minute Walk to the House Without a Key, in the famous Halekulani Hotel, very upscale but with an affordable meals at this outdoor, on the ocean hotspot. Live music at happy hour, sunset time! If you want to go upscale, put on some pants and check out Le Mer, upstairs at this hotel. Still has ocean views, but with classically inspired French food. No a la carte here, you either choose the 2, 3, or 4 course tasting menu with or without paired wines, which starts at $100 a pop and can climb to $200+ each person. Worth it for those special occasions, I love this place!

16 Minute Walk to the Waikiki Aquarium, a cool spot to check out.

Getting Around

Condo comes with FREE parking! The best part about my place is you can walk everywhere! You can also easily catch the Bus line is less than a 5 minute walk. Easy access to airport busses. and Shuttles to Ala Moana mall stop right there too.
